Head Over Wheels
Rolling back in time with an 80s-inspired logo for Head Over Wheels, a roller skate crew and agency based in Amsterdam. Designed to capture their vibrant energy and the spirit of the era. Totally radical!
The client requested some ideas for a new wine label. However, the only given things were the name, which was Wanderlust and their target audience, Millennials. After some talks the client agreed for us to develop a strategy for them. This enabled us to clarify what the brand is, how it can position itself in the market and why it should matter to the target audience.
After the strategy has been set up, we started our research as a foundation for the design concept. The term 'Wanderlust' originates from the German words wandern ('to hike') and Lust ('desire'), literally translated as 'enjoyment of hiking', although it is commonly described as 'enjoyment of strolling, roaming about, or wandering'. The first documented use of the term in English occurred in 1902 as a reflection of what was then seen as a characteristically German love for wandering that may be traced back to German Romanticism.
Wanderlust may reflect an intense urge for self-development by experiencing the unknown, confronting unforeseen challenges, getting to know unfamiliar cultures, ways of life and behaviours or may be driven by the desire to escape and leave the familiar behind.
